Kitchen supplies are like an addiction to me. I spare no expense on only the best. Kitchenaid mixers, Le Creuset whatever, All Clad this and that. But one day I was short on cash and decided I needed a food processor. I saw this in a grocery store for, like, $20. I said, "Screw it, this will work until I can afford a $100 Cuisinart." That was a year ago, and I have had no desire the replace this one yet. I grind nuts in it. I've made big batches of pesto in it. Hell, I make pie crust in it on a REGULAR basis (Making pie crust in a food processor, though much easier then using a pastry blender by hand, is absolute HELL on a food processor.) . This little bad boy takes the abuse and asks for more. If it blows up tomorrow, Ill have gotten my moneys worth, and even if I have the money for a better name brand, I would probably just go out and buy another Hamilton Beach. I'm only giving it 5 stars because Amazon wont let me give it 10. Seriously, 'Worth the Money' is an understatement.

I was looking for a good food processor to make beer cheese for the winter. I use to just use an electric hand mixer before and realised I needed something to give it a much creamier texture.
After checking out a few differant brands and models, which I'm sure are very good too, I decided on this Hamilton Beach 6 cup food processor. Bring it looked well built, blades appeared good and strong, a good name brand and 6 cups being not to small so I can make up a big batch of beer cheese, but not to small so its not a burden to clean.
All I can say is I am extremely impressed with this thing.
Please mind, this is my first food processor, as I have recently been getting into cooking. But this is incrediblly powerful.
I really like the simple features, on and pulse, which pulse instantly turns off when you let go. I found this to be great when I'm adding touch ups to my beer cheese.
This product is very well built too. Its definatly not flimsy and something that can break easily if you so much as look at it wrong, not saying to purposly drop it off a building though. But the bowl and base is very sturdy and strong, which shows a well design and good craftsmanship put into its design and making.
The On/Off/Pulse switch is really nice when your working with a project and need a constant hands on, as its nice and big, quick to use unlike some of the 'button' kinds I have seen. Just rest your hand up on it and have at it.
It is so easy to clean its not funny. Just a soak in hot water with alittle soap. The blades are nice and sharp, not the real thin gauge metal that can bend sideways like paper which I seen on some of the cheaper ones.
A superb saftey feature where you have to lock the top lid over the bowl or it wont turn on. Happened to me and I thought it broke, being my first processor, my mistake on that and feel silly because of it. But the shoot on the lid needs to be on the opposite side of the On/Off/Pulse switch, which is pretty neat, as you add food or ingrediances and if any spill it won't get on the power switch to get messy.
Basically all in all, this is a well built 6 cup, easy to store, easy to use, nice looking inexpensive food processor that is just awsome.
As I said, I originally got this for making beer cheese which whips it up creamy perfectly, but I enjoy this so much I have been making sasa's, other cheese spreads and even use the chopping blade that comes with it to make sliced potatos for home fries.
For the price, it can't be beat. I never thought I would say this about a food processor, but I won't part with my Hamilton Beach 6 cup'er.

This food processor (my first ever) has quickly become my favorite kitchen appliance. I never realized that I had so many uses for it and find myself eager (yes eager) to use it daily.
It has an extremely sharp chopping blade (grinds nuts to powder in less than 5 seconds, perfect for making homemade nut butters) and veggies take only a few pulses until they are chopped small. Be careful of the blade when it is sitting in the sink ready to be washed- already cut myself reaching into the sink, proving how sharp it really is. The clean up is a breeze, soak in soapy water for a few minutes. It's lightweight, but very sturdy, making the constant in/out motion to/from the cabinets easy.
There are 2 downsides: (1) The chute is narrow, meaning that things like sweet potatoes must be halved vertically before being sliced, resulting in funny looking scalloped potatoes. (2) The shredder shreds SMALL! I was hoping for longer shreds of things like cabbage/carrots.
Overall, buy it. The size is perfect for a household of 1-4. Price is great for a fabulous appliance!

I've owned this food processor for several years, and also own a more expensive one [Kitchen type] and I always reach for the Hamilton Beach. It is lighter in weight [though it has plenty of heft and sits nicely on the counter] Assembly is quick and simple, straightforward, and doesn't take half an hour to set up, and does the job quickly and efficiently. Isn't that really all we want? It has never failed, whether it is chopping fruit or nuts, making pesto, making dough. I use the Pulse feature a lot, as it will grind up cranberries in about 3-4 pulses. And pesto takes no longer. A snap to use! I am looking to get one for my Mom, as she is elderly, and I think this would be perfect for her. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another one. The price is awesome considering the way it performs. The plastic bowl is heavy, durable, easy to clean.

This Food Processor is very powerful. The first time I used it I put a bag of pre-sliced cole slaw into the processor (I like it smaller chopped) and pulsed it two times for a few seconds. WOW! It pureed it. Now that I know how powerful it is I only have to pulse it for a second. My old food processor was 15 years old and I didn't realize how much better the new ones are. This is an excellent processor.
