Product Description The OXO Good Grips Food Mill is the perfect tool for preparing fresh purees, sauces, soups and more. It has a stainless steel inner bowl to accommodate hot foods and prevent staining, and includes 3 stainless steel grinding discs for fine, medium and coarse textures. Use the fine disc for homemade jellies, creamy sauces and baby food, the medium disc for applesauce and vegetable soups, and the coarse disc for mashed potatoes and chunkier sauces. The Food Mill has a simple, spring-loaded lever that makes it easy to exchange discs and disassemble for storage. Three non-slip legs hold the Food Mill securely over bowls and pots up to 11 inches in diameter, and fold for easy storage. The soft, non-slip handle and knob make gripping and cranking the Food Mill a comfortable task. All parts are dishwasher-safe.

Great for baby food! February 22, 2010 Heather Bieber (Wellington, CO) I absolutely love this little device! So far I've made butternut squash, sweet potato, peas, cantaloupe, blueberries and banana's for my little guy using this mill! I've also made "mashed" potatos that come out wonderfully! KidCo makes babyfood "ice trays" they are portioned out at about an ounce and a half (I'd guess). So you put your freshly milled food into the tray, freeze it and then you can pop everything out and put it into freezer storage bags! This works great, you only need to have one set of the KidCo trays and then just freeze and store the portions! I have a menagerie of homemade things for my son to eat! It's great!
Lived up to reviews February 10, 2010 A. Bondy (Maryland, USA) I bought this because of the good reviews I saw. I made butternut squash soup with this the other day...It requires a little muscle, but the results were amazing! Perfectly pureed goodness! I quickly learned to switch between turning clockwise and counterclockwise to scoop up all the little pieces.
OXO Good Grips Food Mill January 22, 2010 Allyson M. Plante (Jacksonville, NC United States) This is a great product! It's easy to use and easy to take apart and clean. It helps keep prep time down and gives you the choice of texture that a food processor can't. It is durable. It does take up some room to store, however, but overall a great choice!
If You've Been Wanting One...This Is It January 9, 2010 C.A. McNeill (Oregon, USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've had my eye on getting a food mill for awhile. If you're like me you've hesitated at getting a 'good' one for several hundred dollars a few times and decided to spend the money on something else. I finally bit the bullet and bought this to make baby food after seeing the good reviews and the price tag. I must say after using it a few times today it's fantastic! It pureed potatoes and peas like a champ so far. The clean up is also a breeze as is changing the discs out. I have nightmares of my Mom's from childhood that had a bolt and nuts and washers and springs to reassemble and clean. Not so with this model. The horizontal bar has a quick release and it pops right apart. A quick rinse right after use and a scrub here and there and done. Easy and efficient. I can't speak to the durability as of yet, but it seems study and the rubber legs gripped the bowl below perfectly. Don't wait if you've been wanting one. Great.
Practice makes perfect December 28, 2009 E. Akley (Farmington, NM) I was so excited to use this product when I first received it. I oredered it to puree cooked pumpkin that my husband grew in his garden this year. I had a hard time because I was using it incorreclty. Make sure you put the metal plates right side up and be sure to reverse once in a while to clear it. After some practice it was really effortless and made the job go very quickly. I have since used it for tomato puree on the smallest setting and the results are just beautiful.
